Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 8.65% or 69.00 points to trade at 866.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) added 4.66% or 5.24 points to end at 117.80 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 2.21% or 0.650 points to 30.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 3.87% or 1.150 points to trade at 28.550 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 3.69% or 12.53 points to end at 326.94 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was down 3.14% or 5.63 points to 173.48.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 149 to 113 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.65% or 69.00 to 866.50.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 7.30 to $1191.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.67% or 0.44 to hit $65.90 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.32 to trade at $71.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.54% to 18.8783, while EUR/MXN fell 0.00% to 21.5943.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 96.00.
