Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.19%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 4.61% or 1.07 points to trade at 24.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) added 2.49% or 0.80 points to end at 32.91 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 2.44% or 1.18 points to 49.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which fell 1.31% or 0.96 points to trade at 72.52 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.29% or 1.80 points to end at 138.05 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was down 0.99% or 0.18 points to 17.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which rose 6.35% to 74.55, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was up 4.61% to settle at 24.29 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which gained 4.25% to close at 28.46.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 1.76% to 1.39 in late trade, Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which lost 1.52% to settle at 38.95 and Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which was down 1.40% to 112.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 261 to 251 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; losing 1.76% or 0.03 to 1.39. Shares in Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.40% or 1.60 to 112.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.55 to $1,931.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.02% or 1.79 to hit $90.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 1.89 to trade at $93.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 104.94.
