Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.96% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 2.50% or 18.60 points to trade at 761.20 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) added 1.99% or 8.00 points to end at 410.00 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 1.76% or 8.10 points to 469.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which fell 4.59% or 2.27 points to trade at 47.20 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 0.97% or 0.41 points to end at 41.34 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.96% or 0.17 points to 16.96.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 5.45% to 1.47, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was up 3.39% to settle at 109.80 and Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which gained 3.38% to close at 13.44.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 8.29% to 1.87 in late trade, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) which lost 4.59% to settle at 47.20 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 3.40% to 25.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 275 to 248 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) fell to all time lows; down 8.29% or 0.17 to 1.87. Shares in Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.40% or 0.88 to 25.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.74% or 14.35 to $1,947.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.55% or 0.50 to hit $90.66 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.07 to trade at $93.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 104.88.
