Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.66% to hit a new 3-months high, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 5.88% or 2.11 points to trade at 38.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 5.06% or 0.77 points to end at 15.89 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 3.48% or 0.39 points to 11.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 1.75% or 2.15 points to trade at 121.00 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 1.17% or 0.72 points to end at 60.65 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.98% or 0.17 points to 17.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 7.97% to 0.02, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 6.46% to settle at 2.21 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which gained 5.88% to close at 38.02.
The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 4.30% to 20.05 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 4.03% to settle at 5.05 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 3.04% to 0.57 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 266 to 259 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.04% or 0.02 to 0.57.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.50% or 10.15 to $2,046.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.95% or 2.86 to hit $69.46 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.55% or 2.74 to trade at $74.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 103.96.
