Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.62%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 2.84% or 22.20 points to trade at 804.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 2.32% or 53.00 points to end at 2,342.00 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 1.60% or 0.92 points to 58.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 2.70% or 2.40 points to trade at 86.42 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 1.34% or 0.52 points to end at 38.31 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 1.22% or 2.50 points to 202.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which rose 5.70% to 30.02, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was up 4.44% to settle at 21.17 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which gained 3.54% to close at 29.80.
The worst performers were Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was down 5.21% to 4.15 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 3.33% to settle at 3.60 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 2.70% to 86.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 275 to 219 and 115 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.43% or 10.35 to $2,397.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.54% or 2.17 to hit $83.19 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.52% or 2.27 to trade at $87.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 106.08.
