Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Personal Goods and General Retailers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.65%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi (PARIS:VIV), which rose 3.34% or 0.74 points to trade at 22.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale (PARIS:SOGN) added 1.34% or 0.58 points to end at 43.73 and BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) was up 1.04% or 0.56 points to 54.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PARIS:LVMH), which fell 2.81% or 4.75 points to trade at 164.50 at the close. Valeo (PARIS:VLOF) declined 2.78% or 3.85 points to end at 134.75 and Saint Gobain (PARIS:SGOB) was down 2.42% or 1.00 points to 40.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet (PARIS:ERMT) which rose 4.73% to 91.64, Vivendi (PARIS:VIV) which was up 3.34% to settle at 22.89 and CGG (PARIS:GEPH) which gained 2.67% to close at 5.76.
The worst performers were Saft (PARIS:S1A) which was down 6.09% to 34.68 in late trade, Faurecia (PARIS:EPED) which lost 5.02% to settle at 39.60 and Montupet SA (PARIS:MNTP) which was down 4.13% to 65.420 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 521 to 376 and 56 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 11.39% to 18.55.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1187.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in May rose 0.13% or 0.06 to hit $46.63 a barrel, while the May Brent Oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.15 to trade at $55.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 1.12% to 0.7313.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 97.46.
