France stocks lower at close of trade

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Leisure Goods, Industrial Transportation and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (PARIS:DANO), which rose 1.44% or 0.85 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bouygues (PARIS:BOUY) added 1.26% or 0.44 points to end at 35.33 and Solvay (BRU:SOLB) was up 1.00% or 1.25 points to 125.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AMS:GTO), which fell 3.97% or 2.88 points to trade at 69.74 at the close. Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA) declined 1.53% or 0.053 points to end at 3.417 and Essilor International (PARIS:ESSI) was down 1.18% or 1.19 points to 99.31.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet (PARIS:ERMT) which rose 11.79% to 89.81, Euler Hermes (PARIS:ELER) which was up 2.67% to settle at 89.68 and Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which gained 2.28% to close at 69.090.

The worst performers were SES (PARIS:SESFd) which was down 4.65% to 30.89 in late trade, Gemalto (AMS:GTO) which lost 3.97% to settle at 69.74 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which was down 3.40% to 16.785 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 479 to 422 and 54 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bouygues (PARIS:BOUY) rose to 3-year highs; rising 1.26% or 0.44 to 35.33. Shares in Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) rose to all time highs; up 2.28% or 1.540 to 69.090.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.50% to 21.26.

Gold for April delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1208.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.45 to trade at $60.66 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1355, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.7390.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.52.
