Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Industrial Engineering and Banks sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.18%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Solvay (BRU:SOLB), which rose 2.15% or 2.30 points to trade at 109.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) added 1.76% or 3.62 points to end at 209.72 and Safran (PARIS:SAF) was up 1.73% or 0.85 points to 49.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom (PARIS:ALSO), which fell 3.88% or 1.07 points to trade at 26.64 at the close. Societe Generale (PARIS:SOGN) declined 2.16% or 0.76 points to end at 34.46 and BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) was down 1.61% or 0.80 points to 48.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were AB Science (PARIS:ABS) which rose 9.50% to 12.220, Groupe Steria (PARIS:TERI) which was up 7.60% to settle at 16.14 and Atos (PARIS:ATOS) which gained 6.19% to close at 63.50.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PARIS:AIRF) which was down 8.08% to 7.632 in late trade, Alstom (PARIS:ALSO) which lost 3.88% to settle at 26.64 and Eramet (PARIS:ERMT) which was down 2.55% to 74.77 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 434 to 350 and 30 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1197.20 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.66% or 1.99 to hit $56.35 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract rose 2.34% or 1.39 to trade at $60.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.2233, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7835.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 89.82.
