Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which rose 1.92% or 0.94 points to trade at 49.56 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 1.78% or 0.99 points to end at 56.65 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 1.59% or 1.00 points to 63.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which fell 1.22% or 1.95 points to trade at 157.50 at the close. Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) declined 1.17% or 0.33 points to end at 27.93 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 1.06% or 5.20 points to 485.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which rose 7.95% to 10.59, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 4.98% to settle at 8.94 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which gained 3.25% to close at 11.44.
The worst performers were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 8.74% to 3.15 in late trade, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which lost 5.39% to settle at 219.50 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 3.75% to 0.58 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 278 to 270 and 85 ended unchanged.
Shares in Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.39% or 12.50 to 219.50. Shares in CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.75% or 0.02 to 0.58.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 0.95 to $1,799.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.87% or 1.39 to hit $75.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 1.08 to trade at $80.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 104.12.
