Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Household Goods and Consumer Service sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA), which rose 2.06% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.970 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) added 1.32% or 2.77 points to end at 212.88 and EDF (PARIS:EDF) was up 1.17% or 0.27 points to 22.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which fell 2.28% or 0.21 points to trade at 9.02 at the close. Technip (PARIS:TECF) declined 1.71% or 0.85 points to end at 49.24 and Renault SA (PARIS:RENA) was down 0.61% or 0.37 points to 60.29.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aeroports De Paris SA (PARIS:ADP) which rose 3.11% to 99.16, Altran Technologies (PARIS:ALTT) which was up 2.98% to settle at 7.679 and Iliad (PARIS:ILD) which gained 2.90% to close at 196.65.
The worst performers were Soitec (PARIS:SOIT) which was down 54.50% to 0.960 in late trade, Groupe Steria (PARIS:TERI) which lost 6.38% to settle at 15.11 and Nicox (PARIS:NCOX) which was down 4.82% to 1.894 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 439 to 317 and 45 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 1.52% or 18.20 to $1177.80 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.80% or 1.60 to hit $55.53 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 1.01 to trade at $60.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.2247, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7843.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 89.81.
