Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Real Estate and REITs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were Toromont Industries Ltd . (TO:TIH), which rose 14.65% or 8.45 points to trade at 66.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Firstservice Corp (TO:FSV) added 6.75% or 6.95 points to end at 109.95 and Pretium Resources Inc. (TO:PVG) was up 5.54% or 0.59 points to 11.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Western Forest Products Inc (TO:WEF), which fell 3.97% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.420 at the close. Interfor Corp (TO:IFP) declined 3.47% or 0.76 points to end at 21.17 and CES Energy Solutions Corp (TO:CEU) was down 3.46% or 0.160 points to 4.460.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 533 to 518 and 164 ended unchanged.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 1.97% to 13.45.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.50% or 6.10 to $1231.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.18% or 0.81 to hit $69.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.65 to trade at $74.09 a barrel.
CAD/USD was up 0.85% to 0.7667, while CAD/EUR rose 0.52% to 0.6540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 94.02.
