Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Information Technology and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which rose 5.99% or 0.95 points to trade at 16.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 5.69% or 12.50 points to end at 232.00 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which fell 3.77% or 0.45 points to trade at 11.50 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.17% or 0.080 points to end at 2.440 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) was down 2.97% or 0.23 points to 7.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 223 to 177 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.63% or 6.90 to $1083.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.64% or 0.75 to hit $44.99 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.81% or 0.91 to trade at $49.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.34% to 2.7921, while EUR/TRY rose 0.19% to 3.0345.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.23.
