Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.38%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which rose 10.10% or 0.400 points to trade at 4.360 at the close. Meanwhile, Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) added 4.54% or 1.02 points to end at 23.50 and Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) was up 3.93% or 0.070 points to 1.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER), which fell 9.80% or 1.69 points to trade at 15.55 at the close. Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) declined 9.32% or 1.10 points to end at 10.70 and Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) was down 8.86% or 1.04 points to 10.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 337 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.80% or 1.69 to 15.55. Shares in Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.32% or 1.10 to 10.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.50% or 18.00 to $1182.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.46% or 2.32 to hit $64.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.61% or 1.89 to trade at $70.57 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 4.98% to 6.0324, while EUR/TRY fell 5.24% to 6.8366.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 96.67.
