Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 3.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which rose 3.96% or 1.06 points to trade at 27.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 3.29% or 0.200 points to end at 6.270 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) was up 3.13% or 0.030 points to 0.990 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN), which fell 7.13% or 0.51 points to trade at 6.64 at the close. Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) declined 6.82% or 0.150 points to end at 2.050 and Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) was down 6.76% or 0.940 points to 12.960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 319 to 63 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) rose to all time highs; rising 3.96% or 1.06 to 27.80. Shares in Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.13% or 0.51 to 6.64. Shares in Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) rose to all time highs; up 3.29% or 0.200 to 6.270. Shares in Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.82% or 0.150 to 2.050.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1224.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.38% or 0.94 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.78 to trade at $73.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.94% to 4.8805, while EUR/TRY rose 2.87% to 5.7039.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 94.40.
