Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.27%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which rose 13.01% or 11.05 points to trade at 96.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Polisan Holding AS (IS:POLHO) added 2.27% or 0.060 points to end at 2.700 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) was up 1.39% or 0.030 points to 2.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which fell 9.09% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK) declined 6.05% or 0.75 points to end at 11.65 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was down 5.72% or 0.190 points to 3.130.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 307 to 71 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) rose to all time highs; up 13.01% or 11.05 to 96.00.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.44% or 5.85 to $1342.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.90% or 0.97 to hit $52.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.12 to trade at $61.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.13% to 5.8723, while EUR/TRY rose 1.02% to 6.6211.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.037.
