Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 2.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 6.29% or 0.210 points to trade at 3.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) added 3.85% or 0.200 points to end at 5.390 and GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) was up 3.41% or 0.030 points to 0.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES), which fell 6.49% or 1.44 points to trade at 20.74 at the close. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 6.26% or 3.70 points to end at 55.40 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) was down 5.83% or 0.130 points to 2.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 287 to 80 and 39 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.16% or 2.15 to $1316.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.69% or 1.43 to hit $54.53 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.29% or 1.43 to trade at $63.85 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.45% to 5.2706, while EUR/TRY rose 0.14% to 5.9502.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.782.
