Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Transport and Sports sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.91% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL), which rose 4.20% or 0.51 points to trade at 12.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) added 2.06% or 0.060 points to end at 2.970 and Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) was up 1.93% or 7.00 points to 369.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK), which fell 10.87% or 4.36 points to trade at 35.74 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) declined 8.50% or 0.130 points to end at 1.400 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was down 6.97% or 0.200 points to 2.670.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 333 to 53 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.30% or 3.75 to $1250.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.49% or 0.77 to hit $52.42 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 1.02 to trade at $61.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.49% to 5.3383, while EUR/TRY fell 0.05% to 6.0736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 96.960.
