Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.51%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 5.66% or 0.670 points to trade at 12.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 4.52% or 0.72 points to end at 16.65 and Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) was up 4.08% or 0.240 points to 6.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS), which fell 5.53% or 0.220 points to trade at 3.760 at the close. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) declined 4.94% or 0.240 points to end at 4.620 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was down 4.05% or 0.280 points to 6.630.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 228 to 136 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) rose to all time highs; rising 4.52% or 0.72 to 16.65.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.53% or 7.00 to $1319.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.61% or 0.38 to hit $62.03 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.21 to trade at $66.00 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.48% to 3.9390, while EUR/TRY rose 0.83% to 4.8594.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 89.45.
