Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Tourism, Technology and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.50%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which rose 6.31% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.180 at the close. Meanwhile, Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM) added 4.08% or 0.180 points to end at 4.590 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was up 4.44% or 0.240 points to 5.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN), which fell 9.22% or 32.50 points to trade at 320.00 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 7.16% or 0.360 points to end at 4.670 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) was down 2.63% or 0.12 points to 4.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 299 to 68 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.63% or 0.12 to 4.45.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.45% or 5.50 to $1217.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.84% or 1.26 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 1.01 to trade at $74.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 3.83% to 5.2771, while EUR/TRY rose 3.82% to 6.1052.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.15.
