Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Food & Beverages and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which rose 3.31% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.560 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 2.40% or 0.170 points to end at 7.260 and Goodyear Lastikleri TAS (IS:GOODY) was up 2.08% or 0.07 points to 3.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which fell 7.40% or 0.250 points to trade at 3.130 at the close. Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) declined 6.41% or 0.250 points to end at 3.650 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was down 5.15% or 0.240 points to 4.420.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 340 to 45 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.15% or 0.240 to 4.420.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1291.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.62% or 0.45 to hit $71.75 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.36 to trade at $79.21 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 3.73% to 4.8445, while EUR/TRY rose 3.05% to 5.6678.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 93.96.
