Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which rose 3.09% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 2.66% or 0.54 points to end at 20.86 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) was up 2.60% or 0.020 points to 0.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL), which fell 5.22% or 0.430 points to trade at 7.800 at the close. Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) declined 5.00% or 0.35 points to end at 6.65 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was down 4.15% or 0.250 points to 5.770.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 250 to 108 and 48 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.33% or 4.10 to $1246.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.31% or 1.75 to hit $51.14 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.94% or 1.81 to trade at $59.75 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 5.3566, while EUR/TRY rose 0.99% to 6.1065.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 96.708.
