Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Sports and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sinpas Gmyo (IS:SNGYO), which rose 1.41% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.710 at the close. Meanwhile, AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA) added 1.39% or 0.70 points to end at 51.00 and Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) was up 1.37% or 0.20 points to 14.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA), which fell 14.78% or 0.340 points to trade at 1.960 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) declined 11.55% or 0.70 points to end at 5.36 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was down 11.50% or 1.30 points to 10.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 340 to 60 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.14% or 12.50 to $1106.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.32% or 0.58 to hit $44.45 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.26% or 1.11 to trade at $50.35 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 2.7862, while EUR/TRY rose 0.45% to 3.0640.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 97.42.
