Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE), which rose 3.21% or 0.160 points to trade at 5.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) added 3.08% or 0.94 points to end at 31.50 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) was up 2.90% or 0.60 points to 21.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which fell 6.87% or 0.180 points to trade at 2.440 at the close. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) declined 5.46% or 0.22 points to end at 3.81 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was down 4.80% or 0.220 points to 4.360.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 238 to 138 and 30 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.35% or 4.35 to $1243.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $53.02 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.44 to trade at $62.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.48% to 5.3809, while EUR/TRY rose 2.49% to 6.1139.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 96.803.
