Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Electricity and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER), which rose 7.82% or 1.54 points to trade at 21.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) added 7.69% or 0.060 points to end at 0.840 and Alarko Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:ALGYO) was up 3.45% or 1.64 points to 49.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which fell 12.50% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) declined 8.92% or 0.140 points to end at 1.430 and Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM) was down 8.06% or 0.86 points to 9.81.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 281 to 87 and 39 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.00% or 0.05 to $1287.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.84% or 0.47 to hit $56.69 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.23 to trade at $66.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.67% to 5.4624, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 6.1334.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 97.305.
