Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Food & Beverages and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.73% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 13.87% or 1.380 points to trade at 11.330 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) added 4.76% or 0.040 points to end at 0.880 and Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) was up 4.03% or 17.90 points to 462.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Albaraka Turk Katilim Bankasi AS (IS:ALBRK), which fell 8.14% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK) declined 5.38% or 2.00 points to end at 35.16 and Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) was down 5.10% or 0.85 points to 15.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 248 to 110 and 49 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.94% or 12.15 to $1298.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.97% or 1.68 to hit $54.98 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.78% or 1.84 to trade at $64.46 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.59% to 5.4379, while EUR/TRY fell 0.20% to 6.1097.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 97.320.
