Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Banking and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 8.89% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Polisan Holding AS (IS:POLHO) added 6.70% or 0.150 points to end at 2.390 and Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) was up 5.79% or 0.070 points to 1.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK), which fell 12.44% or 2.60 points to trade at 18.30 at the close. Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) declined 3.27% or 0.090 points to end at 2.660 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) was down 2.78% or 0.16 points to 5.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 212 to 159 and 38 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.58% or 8.20 to $1428.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.63% or 0.36 to hit $57.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.47 to trade at $64.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.91% to 5.5587, while EUR/TRY fell 0.86% to 6.1976.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.863.
