Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Leasing & Factoring and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK), which rose 17.91% or 5.66 points to trade at 37.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) added 5.42% or 0.18 points to end at 3.50 and Indeks Bilgisayar Sistemleri Muhendislik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:INDES) was up 5.12% or 0.410 points to 8.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK), which fell 4.64% or 0.85 points to trade at 17.45 at the close. Polisan Holding AS (IS:POLHO) declined 4.18% or 0.100 points to end at 2.290 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) was down 3.75% or 0.21 points to 5.39.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 236 to 131 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indeks Bilgisayar Sistemleri Muhendislik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:INDES) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.12% or 0.410 to 8.420.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.30 to $1428.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $58.52 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.53 to trade at $65.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.19% to 5.5454, while EUR/TRY fell 0.42% to 6.1703.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.917.
