Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.51% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 5.92% or 0.810 points to trade at 14.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 4.77% or 0.420 points to end at 9.220 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 4.72% or 1.12 points to 24.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO), which fell 5.94% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.950 at the close. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) declined 4.80% or 0.23 points to end at 4.56 and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) was down 4.79% or 0.44 points to 8.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 268 to 108 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.92% or 0.810 to 14.500.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.66% or 8.65 to $1327.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $59.00 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.11 to trade at $66.86 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 3.42% to 5.5644, while EUR/TRY fell 3.40% to 6.2993.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 96.023.
