Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.25% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ittifak Holding AS (IS:ITTFH), which rose 8.19% or 0.520 points to trade at 6.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) added 6.67% or 0.030 points to end at 0.480 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was up 6.10% or 0.200 points to 3.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS), which fell 5.48% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.070 at the close. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) declined 4.74% or 0.96 points to end at 19.30 and Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) was down 4.37% or 0.520 points to 11.390.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 193 to 158 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ittifak Holding AS (IS:ITTFH) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 8.19% or 0.520 to 6.870.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.70% or 8.95 to $1280.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.07% or 0.66 to hit $62.47 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.77 to trade at $71.52 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 5.9671, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 6.6759.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 97.343.
