Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 5.98% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) added 5.77% or 0.060 points to end at 1.100 and Parsan Makina Parcalari Sanayi AS (IS:PARSN) was up 5.59% or 0.690 points to 13.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM), which fell 2.43% or 0.22 points to trade at 8.85 at the close. Ittifak Holding AS (IS:ITTFH) declined 2.36% or 0.150 points to end at 6.200 and MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK) was down 2.36% or 0.30 points to 12.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 171 to 164 and 72 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.60% or 8.05 to $1339.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.55% or 1.36 to hit $51.91 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.97% or 1.23 to trade at $61.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 5.7910, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 6.5511.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 96.792.
