Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Holdings & Investments and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA), which rose 6.08% or 0.40 points to trade at 6.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) added 3.60% or 0.23 points to end at 6.62 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) was up 3.59% or 0.34 points to 9.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which fell 7.71% or 0.86 points to trade at 10.29 at the close. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) declined 5.46% or 0.100 points to end at 1.730 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) was down 5.39% or 2.70 points to 47.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 225 to 123 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.71% or 0.86 to 10.29. Shares in Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.59% or 0.34 to 9.82.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.10 to $1199.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.62% or 0.45 to hit $71.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.23 to trade at $81.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.16% to 6.0901, while EUR/TRY fell 1.28% to 7.1628.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.81.
