Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 3.83% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK), which rose 7.41% or 0.44 points to trade at 6.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) added 7.16% or 0.260 points to end at 3.890 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was up 6.64% or 0.80 points to 12.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which fell 1.25% or 1.60 points to trade at 126.90 at the close. Ittifak Holding AS (IS:ITTFH) declined 0.65% or 0.040 points to end at 6.160 and Bera Holding AS (IS:BERA) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 1.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 326 to 41 and 39 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.18% or 2.45 to $1345.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.47% or 1.30 to hit $53.89 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.48% or 1.53 to trade at $63.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.84% to 5.8243, while EUR/TRY rose 1.31% to 6.5971.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 96.562.
