Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.77% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI), which rose 10.19% or 0.490 points to trade at 5.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) added 9.14% or 0.490 points to end at 5.850 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) was up 7.21% or 0.32 points to 4.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which fell 19.97% or 1.300 points to trade at 5.210 at the close. Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) declined 3.03% or 0.020 points to end at 0.640 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) was down 2.33% or 0.21 points to 8.81.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 263 to 106 and 37 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 5.85 to $1308.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.37% or 1.23 to hit $53.22 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.18 to trade at $60.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.29% to 5.3113, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 6.0658.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.500.
