Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.40% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK), which rose 8.62% or 0.52 points to trade at 6.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) added 8.09% or 0.360 points to end at 4.810 and Haci Omer Sabanci Holding AS (IS:SAHOL) was up 6.97% or 0.54 points to 8.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which fell 4.00% or 2.50 points to trade at 59.95 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 2.55% or 0.050 points to end at 1.910 and Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) was down 2.34% or 0.72 points to 30.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 232 to 119 and 55 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.41% or 5.25 to $1293.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.48% or 0.77 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.55 to trade at $60.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.60% to 5.3545, while EUR/TRY fell 1.70% to 6.1042.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.683.
