Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Tourism and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.90% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which rose 5.49% or 0.28 points to trade at 5.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) added 5.11% or 0.180 points to end at 3.700 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 4.37% or 0.31 points to 7.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS), which fell 4.59% or 0.270 points to trade at 5.610 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.13% or 0.010 points to end at 0.310 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) was down 1.79% or 0.35 points to 19.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 283 to 83 and 41 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.53% or 6.95 to $1311.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.22% or 1.17 to hit $51.55 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 0.84 to trade at $61.26 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.63% to 5.2793, while EUR/TRY rose 0.22% to 5.9531.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 96.863.
