Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.76% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK), which rose 6.78% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.890 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) added 6.25% or 0.08 points to end at 1.36 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) was up 5.36% or 0.120 points to 2.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which fell 3.13% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.310 at the close. Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) declined 1.72% or 0.100 points to end at 5.700 and Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) was down 1.55% or 0.52 points to 32.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 228 to 108 and 71 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.16% or 2.05 to $1280.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.22% or 1.74 to hit $52.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.82% or 1.77 to trade at $60.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.33% to 5.3400, while EUR/TRY rose 0.32% to 6.0678.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.953.
