Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Banking and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 8.58% or 0.680 points to trade at 8.610 at the close. Meanwhile, ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 7.89% or 0.150 points to end at 2.050 and Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) was up 5.66% or 1.64 points to 30.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which fell 4.15% or 0.240 points to trade at 5.540 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.23% or 0.010 points to end at 0.300 and Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) was down 2.45% or 0.040 points to 1.590.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 256 to 115 and 36 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.39% or 4.90 to $1258.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.48% or 1.62 to hit $48.22 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.13% or 1.76 to trade at $58.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.36% to 5.2710, while EUR/TRY fell 0.84% to 6.0266.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 96.097.
