Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transport and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which rose 9.39% or 0.520 points to trade at 6.060 at the close. Meanwhile, Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 7.55% or 0.84 points to end at 11.96 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) was up 5.63% or 0.310 points to 5.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which fell 7.89% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.350 at the close. Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) declined 6.36% or 0.260 points to end at 3.830 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was down 6.17% or 0.67 points to 10.19.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 224 to 147 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.89% or 0.030 to 0.350. Shares in Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.17% or 0.67 to 10.19.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1313.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.90% or 2.00 to hit $71.06 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 2.02 to trade at $76.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.96% to 4.2909, while EUR/TRY fell 1.03% to 5.0883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.92.
