Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Banking and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.05% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which rose 7.28% or 2.32 points to trade at 34.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) added 6.19% or 0.060 points to end at 1.030 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 5.86% or 0.430 points to 7.770 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which fell 2.26% or 0.580 points to trade at 25.060 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) declined 1.78% or 0.58 points to end at 32.06 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was down 1.72% or 0.29 points to 16.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 230 to 128 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) rose to all time highs; rising 5.86% or 0.430 to 7.770.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.10% or 14.70 to $1351.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.24% or 0.80 to hit $65.27 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.35 to trade at $70.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.79% to 3.7374, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 4.6280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.80% at 89.16.
