Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electricity, Transport and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 8.59% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.770 at the close. Meanwhile, Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) added 5.32% or 0.050 points to end at 0.990 and Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) was up 5.22% or 0.230 points to 4.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA), which fell 1.82% or 0.66 points to trade at 35.58 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) declined 1.72% or 0.56 points to end at 32.08 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) was down 1.48% or 0.56 points to 37.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 252 to 94 and 57 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1321.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.37% or 0.87 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.58 to trade at $69.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.55% to 3.7787, while EUR/TRY rose 0.34% to 4.5564.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 91.62.
