Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 9.92% or 0.250 points to trade at 2.770 at the close. Meanwhile, MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK) added 4.47% or 0.46 points to end at 10.76 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) was up 4.19% or 4.90 points to 121.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which fell 2.28% or 0.230 points to trade at 9.850 at the close. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 1.88% or 0.46 points to end at 24.00 and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) was down 1.73% or 0.17 points to 9.63.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 212 to 136 and 61 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.85 to $1414.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.56% or 0.34 to hit $60.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.13 to trade at $67.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.09% to 5.6652, while EUR/TRY fell 0.01% to 6.3778.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 96.630.
