Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Telecoms and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL), which rose 4.25% or 0.450 points to trade at 11.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 4.05% or 12.40 points to end at 318.40 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was up 4.04% or 0.160 points to 4.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO), which fell 5.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.680 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 3.37% or 0.150 points to end at 4.300 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) was down 2.44% or 0.010 points to 0.400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 206 to 151 and 52 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1226.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $67.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.28 to trade at $72.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.14% to 4.7985, while EUR/TRY fell 0.23% to 5.5933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.81.
