Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Textile & Leather and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.31% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 8.51% or 0.530 points to trade at 6.760 at the close. Meanwhile, Ittifak Holding AS (IS:ITTFH) added 6.01% or 0.370 points to end at 6.530 and Gentas Genel Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GENTS) was up 5.92% or 0.090 points to 1.610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK), which fell 2.29% or 0.41 points to trade at 17.47 at the close. BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS) declined 2.19% or 1.80 points to end at 80.25 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) was down 2.00% or 0.40 points to 19.59.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 258 to 100 and 50 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.08% or 14.55 to $1331.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.20% or 0.11 to hit $53.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.55 to trade at $62.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.93% to 5.7759, while EUR/TRY fell 1.11% to 6.5325.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 96.755.
