Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK), which rose 7.41% or 0.41 points to trade at 5.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) added 5.56% or 0.060 points to end at 1.140 and Indeks Bilgisayar Sistemleri Muhendislik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:INDES) was up 5.14% or 0.340 points to 6.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which fell 5.46% or 0.680 points to trade at 11.780 at the close. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) declined 3.68% or 0.67 points to end at 17.53 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was down 2.98% or 0.70 points to 22.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 185 to 157 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.68% or 0.67 to 17.53.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.52% or 20.05 to $1296.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.71% or 0.42 to hit $58.99 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.52 to trade at $66.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 3.97% to 5.5385, while EUR/TRY rose 3.84% to 6.2187.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 96.727.
