Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electricity and Biotech & Medical Care sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 2.44% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538), which rose 6.36% or 0.34 points to trade at 5.69 at the close. Meanwhile, BizLink Holding Inc (TW:3665) added 6.06% or 9.00 points to end at 157.50 and Chung Hwa Pulp Corp (TW:1905) was up 2.79% or 0.25 points to 9.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Silergy Corp (TW:6415), which fell 10.00% or 41.00 points to trade at 369.00 at the close. Faraday Technology Corp (TW:3035) declined 10.00% or 3.60 points to end at 32.40 and Tainergy Tech Co Ltd (TW:4934) was down 10.00% or 0.52 points to 4.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 823 to 49 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Silergy Corp (TW:6415) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.00% or 41.00 to 369.00. Shares in Faraday Technology Corp (TW:3035) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.00% or 3.60 to 32.40. Shares in Tainergy Tech Co Ltd (TW:4934) fell to all time lows; down 10.00% or 0.52 to 4.68.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.45% or 0.30 to $66.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.45% or 0.34 to hit $75.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.60 to trade at $1239.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.07% to 30.973, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2244.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 95.99.
