Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 2.00% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Fortune Information Systems Corp (TW:2468), which rose 9.62% or 1.15 points to trade at 13.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Altek Corp (TW:3059) added 5.38% or 1.20 points to end at 23.50 and I-Hwa Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1456) was up 5.08% or 0.37 points to 7.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which fell 9.93% or 48.00 points to trade at 435.50 at the close. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) declined 9.92% or 6.40 points to end at 58.10 and Chroma ATE Inc (TW:2360) was down 8.75% or 11.50 points to 120.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 730 to 114 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) fell to all time lows; falling 9.92% or 6.40 to 58.10.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.45% or 0.31 to $69.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.61% or 0.49 to hit $79.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.90 to trade at $1231.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.974, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2237.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 95.78.
