Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434), which rose 9.70% or 1.15 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) added 9.69% or 9.10 points to end at 103.00 and Orient Semiconductor Electronics Ltd (TW:2329) was up 8.70% or 1.00 points to 12.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515), which fell 10.00% or 5.80 points to trade at 52.20 at the close. Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) declined 7.18% or 1.40 points to end at 18.10 and LIWANLI Innovation Co Ltd (TW:3054) was down 6.54% or 1.70 points to 24.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 562 to 232 and 114 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orient Semiconductor Electronics Ltd (TW:2329) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.70% or 1.00 to 12.50.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.68% or 0.51 to $75.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.28% or 0.24 to hit $85.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 5.90 to trade at $1197.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 30.618, while TWD/CNY fell 0.31% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 95.12.
