Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Financials and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.44% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mobiletron (TW:1533), which rose 10.00% or 3.10 points to trade at 34.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Chiu Ting Mach (TW:1539) added 9.97% or 3.10 points to end at 34.20 and Bizlink (TW:3665) was up 9.77% or 12.50 points to 140.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 9.97% or 0.61 points to trade at 5.51 at the close. Genesis Photon (TW:3383) declined 9.92% or 0.89 points to end at 8.08 and Phytohealth (TW:4108) was down 9.26% or 1.50 points to 14.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 581 to 261 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.97% or 0.61 to 5.51. Shares in Genesis Photon (TW:3383) fell to all time lows; losing 9.92% or 0.89 to 8.08. Shares in Phytohealth (TW:4108) fell to all time lows; falling 9.26% or 1.50 to 14.70.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.64% or 0.27 to $42.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.62% or 0.30 to hit $48.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1118.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.57% to 32.426, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.1970.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.89.
