Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Biotech & Medical Care and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.33% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Yu Foong International Corp (TW:1438), which rose 9.98% or 0.640 points to trade at 7.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) added 9.90% or 5.20 points to end at 57.70 and Optotech Corp (TW:2340) was up 8.33% or 1.20 points to 15.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merry Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2439), which fell 10.00% or 15.50 points to trade at 139.50 at the close. Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452) declined 9.92% or 35.00 points to end at 318.00 and Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) was down 9.52% or 2.00 points to 19.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 528 to 279 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.92% or 35.00 to 318.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.95% or 0.64 to $66.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.69% or 0.53 to hit $76.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.00 to trade at $1234.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.11% to 31.000, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 96.40.
