Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Hotels and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Optimax Technology Corp (TW:3051), which rose 9.95% or 0.42 points to trade at 4.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026) added 9.94% or 6.20 points to end at 68.60 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.91% or 1.70 points to 18.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512), which fell 9.96% or 1.25 points to trade at 11.30 at the close. Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) declined 6.48% or 10.50 points to end at 151.50 and Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) was down 4.43% or 0.90 points to 19.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 429 to 319 and 127 ended unchanged.
Shares in Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.94% or 6.20 to 68.60. Shares in Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) fell to all time lows; losing 4.43% or 0.90 to 19.40.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.11% or 0.06 to $55.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.26% or 0.16 to hit $62.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.11 to trade at $1277.81 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.26% to 30.071, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2196.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.76.
